The Great Celebration of Women | Day Retreat
May

The Great Celebration of Women | Day Retreat

We are pleased to host this day retreat led by Harmony and Karelle, in which sacred space will be held for all.

Women, by their cyclical nature, go through four major phases, which they visit in turn each month and throughout their lives.

Understanding our cyclical nature and inviting this wisdom to guide us is a way of reconnecting to the space where we are, women, the most powerful and beautiful. We can start to let go of the oppression of our linear society and start living in accordance with who we really are.

We use the power and strength of archetypes to guide us through different experiences in our lives. The more we learn to understand how these energies travel through us the more we learn to use them wisely.

Let’s celebrate what has been, breathe in where we are now and gaze on the future knowing that we have all the keys to writing our own story full of wisdom, hope and empowerment.

Investment + Booking

Please Note: this is a privately hosted event; all policies, pricing and booking is set through the hosts.

Karelle's vision of practice and yoga is one of perpetual movement. Her vision evolves and modulates through her. Fascinated by humans and the richness of connections, her teaching and practice is a way for her to get in touch with humanity.

She likes to think that exchange is a precious sharing and that one is enriched by remaining curious about the life movement itself and how it’s inner dialogue through body, mind and spirit. Karelle is fascinated by fluidity, therapeutic movement, prana, energy, life, and experience in all its forms conveyed as a dance through the body. In love with the art of creation in all forms and always in search of deep authenticity, she approaches the idea that we must go back inside and reclaim our full potential to dive into the total immersion of our gift.

Moving Beyond Perfectionism Day Retreat
Apr

12:00 PM12:00

Moving Beyond Perfectionism Day Retreat

Join Dr. Heather Kennedy, Professional Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher, to explore the ease, energy and self-acceptance that become possible in your life once you start to let go of perfectionistic behaviours.  During this transformative afternoon we’ll hold space for one another as we seek to understand where our perfectionistic traits come from, honour the positive ways those traits have helped us in life, and practice tools that will allow us let go of specific behaviours that may no longer be serving us in our work, relationships and health.

Event Overview

We will gather to move, breathe, learn, and get curious about how our lives might look and feel when we cut ourselves some slack.  As we move between the incredible Yoga Dome and Onyx Lodge, we’ll laugh, practice self-acceptance, and use both coaching and yoga as vehicles to create our own unique plans for moving beyond perfectionism in our lives.

There is no one “right” way to move beyond perfectionism.  Just as each of us is unique, so too are our stories, beliefs, experiences, dreams, and values.  The beauty of sharing time together as a group of self-identifying perfectionists (wherever we are on that journey) is that we can support one another as we own our stories, accept ourselves more deeply, and create plans for moving forward that are as individual as we are.

As we share practices and tools for moving beyond perfectionism, you’ll have the freedom to choose those which you’d like to incorporate into your daily life going forward.  More importantly, you’ll learn to give yourself permission to practice and apply these imperfectly.

You’ll leave your immersive experience feeling appreciated, refreshed, challenged, supported, and equipped to take the steps you need in order to create more ease, energy and joy in your life by letting go of the specific ways that perfectionism isn’t serving you.

What’s Included:

·   Welcome, intention setting and lovingkindness meditation

·   A supportive group coaching environment in which to unpack and begin moving beyond perfectionism in your own life

·   Tools to help you understand, accept and love yourself more deeply

·   A nourishing 75-minute yang/yin yoga practice

·   Specific strategies to help you let go of perfectionistic behaviours where they aren’t serving you

·   A light vegan lunch and delicious snack, unlimited hot beverages

·   Closing circle of love, affirmation, and gratitude

About Coaching

Coaching is a transformative and supported experience that allows you to pause, reflect inward, feel heard, and create your own personal plan for reaching the desired goal.  It is a process of moving forward—while honoring the past but not resting in it—to where you want to be in life.  In the context of our experience together, coaching will be used to reflect on what life might look like if we, as perfectionists, learned to cut ourselves some slack, became more comfortable with the experiences of failure and feeling challenging emotions, and celebrated our accomplishments while also remaining grounded in our identity separate from our results.  There is no right or wrong path in the coaching experience—there is simply your path, and it’s my role as a coach to help you discover and journey along it.

About Yang/Yin Yoga

In the beautiful pairing of yang and yin, we experience the complementary practices of developing strength and stamina in our being (during the more energizing yang beginning) and settling into our deeper spaces of connective tissue and flexibility (during the more restful and passive yin portion).

Both forms of practice invite a supportive connection to breath, and the deep breathwork practices that suit yin practice stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing us to rest, digest, and absorb deeply.  Combined, the practices allow us to deepen our awareness, move our bodies through healthy ranges of motion, and nurture our minds, bodies, and souls.

Investment + Registration:

Investment: $160

ABOUT THE HOST
Heather is a former veterinarian and unwavering optimist who delights in helping others find ease, energy, joy and self-acceptance in their lives.

Her training as a Certified Professional Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher combine to support her clients in mind, body and soul as they move toward reaching their goals in life.  As perfectionism and people-pleasing are common challenges experienced by her clients, she offers them support and tools in the areas of self-acceptance; boundary setting; mindfulness and gratitude practices to combat fear; emotional awareness and resilience; letting go of beliefs that no longer serve; and establishing new patterns, habits and ways of being as they step away from perfectionistic and people-pleasing behaviours toward ease, energy, joy, and confidence.

Heather delights in seeing others thrive.  Her style as both coach and yoga teacher is to offer an empathetic and encouraging voice while working with each individual to meet the specific needs of their body, mind and soul.
