Sunday Sounds to Heal: Evening Somatic Sound Baths for Restful Sleep

bowls crystals singing, crystal bowls, sound healing, meditation

Unwind with the soothing power of crystal healing bowls, guided breathwork, yin yoga and yoga nidra, designed to balance your nervous system and promote deep relaxation. Offered by Andrea Clark, co-founder of Nectar Retreat and Mist Thermal, these transformative sound bath sessions incorporate Solfeggio frequencies and other healing tones to promote sound healing, while also guiding you through breathwork that builds resilience and reduces stress.

Each two-hour session includes:

  • A welcoming herbal tea to soothe.

  • Guided breathwork exercises designed to build inner resilience and prepare you for rest.

  • Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, helps individuals reach a deep state of relaxation while remaining conscious. These are paired with 2-3 yin yoga postures for restorative, somatic release to support calm in your body and encourage better sleep.

  • 30+ minutes of sound healing using crystal bowls to help ease tension and encourage relaxation.

  • Time for gentle integration, ensuring that you leave feeling grounded, and ready for a peaceful night.

Whether you're a Bowen Island local or a visitor exploring what to do on Bowen Island, these sessions offer a perfect opportunity for self-care and relaxation.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable layers, including warm socks, as the Dome may feel cooler in the evening.

  • A journal for reflections during the integration period.

Our 'Sunday Sounds To Heal' sessions prioritize accessibility by recognizing and addressing financial disparities affecting racialized, disabled, and marginalized communities. We welcome individuals who are Black, Indigenous, people of color, 2SLGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, or single parents to book with us, without requiring proof of financial hardship.

Community Yoga Class w/ Boris

Not flexible? No worries, neither am I!

I often struggled going to yoga classes since I often did not know what I was doing, and I never really felt like I belonged in a class full of super flexible people. That said, I have found yoga to be one of the most complete and, if done correctly, one of the best whole-body (and mind) workouts ever.

As such, I invite you to come join me, the world’s least flexible certified yoga teacher, as we try to bend the trend and get more newbies (and anyone who is interested) to join us for a slightly different type of class. Yoga is a beautiful practice that goes well beyond the physical exercise and is a wonderful antidote to overstimulated minds (like mine). I am hoping to create a safe space for anyone who, like me, is generally result-driven and who might not regularly seek out mindful practices like this. We will focus on the movements and mindfulness that comes with the practice of yoga with two goals in mind: 1) you will get a great workout (and sweat your butt off), and 2) everyone will be able to participate in the entire class.

Class details:

- Day/time: Weekly on Mondays @ 6am

- Cost: By donation only (suggested price $15-20 but essentially free so don’t let the cost stop you from coming)

- Proceeds: 100% of proceeds from the class will be donated within BC (targeting habitat protection organizations – as per my daughter’s suggestion)

- Location: Nectar Yoga dome (Thank you Andrea and Satjeet)

- Equipment: Everything is provided by Nectar Yoga studio so you do not need to bring any equipment

We are limited to approx. 18 people on a first come first serve basis.
