Join yoga and meditation teacher, Farah Nazarali and yoga therapist, Nicole Marcia for this unique day retreat geared towards supporting anyone specifically in a helping profession (social workers, healthcare providers, therapists, counsellors).

This retreat offers respite from the stresses of modern life and an opportunity to be immersed in peace and care. Designed for those who work in the helping professions who feel maxed out, under-resourced and in need of a reset, this retreat offers space to decompress, in a nourishing environment, and practical, accessible tools to re-awaken and sustain hope and inspiration.

Participants will enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch, time in nature, yogic movements that are kind and gentle on the body, and the opportunity to connect with heart-centred and like-minded people. Everyone will receive a complimentary writing journal for use in our session and to keep for ongoing reflections and insights.

ABOUT THE HOSTS
Farah Nazarali, BA, MA.

Farah has been teaching yoga for over 20 years in a variety of settings – yoga studios, public schools, non-profits, corporate classes, and in retreat settings. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her studies in Tibetan Buddhism, lineage-based yoga, conflict resolution, and non-violent communication. Farah is the former podcast host of In Conversation: The Podcast of Banyen Books and Sound and Hollyhock Talks,  and the founder of Drishti Point Yoga Podcasts. Farah is passionate about making yoga and yogic tools accessible to people who wouldn’t otherwise find themselves in a yoga studio and facilitating transformation experiences in retreat settings.


Nicole Marcia (she/her), MA, C-IAYT, TCTSY-F, MC (Candidate)

Nicole is a dually trained counsellor (graduation 2023) and yoga therapist. In 2009, she was awarded a master’s degree with a specialization in yoga therapy. For 9 years, she served as the Director of Therapeutic Yoga Programming for the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health & Addictions and Riverview Psychiatric Hospital. From 2007-2018, she worked as a yoga therapist at Onsite, the treatment arm of the safe injection site in Vancouver’s downtown eastside. She is also certified as a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga facilitator (TCTSY-F). Nicole facilitates therapeutic classes for women fleeing situations of human trafficking and works with teens living with mental health challenges. She is also a service provider for First Responder Health, serving emergency workers and healthcare providers.
