RETREAT OVERVIEW
Join Tina Pashumati James at Nectar, for a sweet celebration of light. This retreat will bring us together in circle to mark the transition of Spring into Summer. Tina will guide us through flowing Asana, Meditation, Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound), elemental wisdom, and nature immersion. This will be an opportunity to connect to Mother Earth, your body, ancient practices transmuted through a senior teacher, and to mark a threshold point in the wheel of the year.
On June 21st we will celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and mark the start of the Summer Solstice with Tina and elders Barry and Clara from the Lil'wat nation. On this sacred afternoon, stories and songs from ancestors are shared, accompanied by prayer and drumming. This event honours the diverse cultures, voices, experiences, and histories of Indigenous communities.
This retreat will take place at Nectar Yoga, a beautiful sanctuary 20 mins off the coast of Vancouver on the ancestral and unceded territory of Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island, BC). To read more about Nectar Yoga, click here.

ABOUT TINA
Renowned for her yoga teaching as well as environmental stewardship.
A former mountaineer, marathoner, competitive equestrian rider, yoga studio owner and so much more, she is a true Bhakti practitioner.
Tina lives, eats and breathes the essence of what yoga is particularly through her environmental stewardship. She is a voice for the voiceless and speaks up about why a plant-based diet is so important within these yoga practices.
“Environmentalism and animal activism are why "I became a yoga teacher" to honour the earth with my First Nations elders with respect for nature and the sacred ceremonies, and to use it as a platform to share and educate.”
Tina is an authorized Senior Ashtanga yoga teacher by Manju Jois at the European Academy of Ashtanga yoga with 30 years of experience, as well as an advanced Jivamukti teacher with 15 years of experience.
She teaches a life program every year in India at the eco-village Govardhan, 800-hour mentorships, private retreats, sweat lodge and vision quests with her Elders.
