Cleanse your body, discover how specific foods can increase vitality, energy, and prevent & heal disease. Grace Van Berkum will guide you through a week of alkalizing juices, smoothies, and gazpachos prepared in creative, delicious ways and filled with raw, vegan, nutrient-dense foods to ensure that you do not feel deprived. Amrita will lead the yoga and meditation portion of the week with a focus on detoxifying, letting go, strength, and taking yoga home.
Grace Van Berkum
Grace Van Berkum is a registered holistic nutritionist, Sivananda Yoga teacher, certified personal trainer, and founder of Gracious Living Retreats. Known for her detoxifying and delicious raw, vegan, plant-powered recipe creations, Grace is passionate about the healing power of whole foods from the earth and their ability to increase prana and elevate consciousness. She leads retreats on nutrition, conscious eating, and yoga worldwide and is the author of 30 Days, 30 Ways to Gracious Living.
Andrea Clark (Amrita)
Andrea Clark (Amrita) is a certified Sivananda Yoga teacher (RYT-500), Pilates instructor, owner of Nectar Yoga Vancouver, and Nectar Yoga B&B Bowen Island. She has been affiliated with the Sivananda lineage for years and is passionate about spreading yoga around the globe. She teaches yoga retreats worldwide with focus on mindful breathing, proper alignment, and detoxifying the body.
This cleanse is designed to improve metabolism and digestion, cleanse internal organs, reduce inflammation, increase energy, recalibrate the taste buds, reset the appetite, educate, inspire, and clear the mind. Guided by an experienced health professional within the ashram’s supportive and relaxing environment, you will have the opportunity to focus on healing and learning without distractions. You’ll also take home practical tips, tools and recipes to implement a healthy lifestyle.
Daily Schedule Includes:
Three detox meals** at 10 am, 1:30 pm, and 6 pm
One-hour nutrition lecture
Simple recipe demonstrations and tips
Twice-daily ashram yoga class with pranayama breathing exercises
Twice-daily satsang for mental detox and inspiration.
**All meals are anti-inflammatory and free of wheat, gluten, sugar, dairy, and soy. A complimentary Gracious Living recipe book is included in the cost of the retreat.
